Web Development

Web development, in general, refers to the tasks associated with creating websites for hosting on an intranet or the internet. Web design, web content development, client-side/server-side scripting, and network security configuration are all part of the web development process. Web development, in a broad sense, refers to all of the actions, updates, and operations required to build, maintain, and manage a website to ensure optimal performance, user experience, and speed.

Web development is also known as website development. The professionals that maintain a website are called web developers or (more commonly) web devs. Web development is the process of coding or programming that enables website functionality based on the needs of the owner. It primarily addresses the non-design aspects of website development, such as coding and markup. Web development encompasses everything from simple text pages to complex web-based applications, social network apps, and electronic business applications. The following is the web development hierarchy: Client-side programming, Server-side programming, Database engineering. To create websites, most web developers use Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and JavaScript.

HTML defines a website's basic framework - the foundation upon which everything else is built. It creates the blocks that define the layout, format, and critical components of a page. Although it is theoretically possible to code a website entirely in HTML, it will be a bare bones site with no functions unless enhanced with CSS and JavaScript. Furthermore, even simple style changes, such as changing the color of a button, necessitate a significant amount of coding when done solely with HTML. CSS is used to style the content of a website by utilizing a small set of files that are shared throughout the site. This way, whenever a change needs to be made, such as changing the color of all the buttons on every page of the website, a web developer only needs to edit a single CSS file. The JavaScript programming language is used to manage the interactivity of numerous distinct website elements. It can be used to make effects that change the look of icons and drop-down menus, as well as to add animations, games, and other interactive elements.

Front-end developers, back-end developers, and full-stack developers are the three types of web developers. A front-end developer is responsible for all visual aspects of the website (layout, navigation bar, etc.), as well as its interactivity and tying all of its elements together. Back-end developers manage the website's hosting services, database, and applications, among other things, to ensure that it runs smoothly. Back-end developers may need to use additional server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, and PHP to solve server issues.
